Member Spotlight: Deb!

Deb has been coming to the Gym for about 9 months and in that time has achieved some impressive results. I'm so proud of her, I wanted to share her success with our community.


Mid 2022 - Join the Gym


Deb joined us in the middle of 2022 with goals aligned with many of our members:

  1. To lose lose body fat & reduce Body Mass Index (BMI)

  2. Create a sustainable and manageable weight loss plan

  3. Improve muscle tone & strength

  4. Become healthier and develop a new routine

Deb started by addressing her diet and nutrition. We created a daily calorie target which included a calorie deficit of around 300 - 500 calories per day. Deb began tracking her food using the Fitbit App (100% free & easy to use for those thinking of starting). By monitoring food intake and becoming aware of macro nutrients, Deb started to see weight loss.




Why join the Gym?


Deb decided to join the Gym because she wanted to make positive changes to her diet and lifestyle.


"I decided to join the Gym because I was getting close to a size 18 and I didn't like the thought of it. I didn't like what I was looking at and I didn't like how I was feeling. I wanted to make a change. I searched for a local Gym, found Clarence Park and decided to give it a go! I really enjoy the gym sessions and the Personal Training. I have learnt new things, even though they can be quite tough! The Gym is great. It has a real community feel and everyone is so welcoming. I love weight training, which is something I never thought I would do. I weigh in each week and it's been great to see the progress."

Deb monitors her training sessions and progress on our training app (Trainerize). As you can see, to date Deb has lost nearly 8KG in weight. More impressively, Deb's strength has increased so much since she started. She now uses Dumbbells, Weight Machines, Barbells and Cables to perform exercises she never thought she would. It's been a great journey so far!
